Campaign

EDA's DVD "Lisa's story" features in their church campaign in National Eating Disorders Awareness Week February 23rd - 2nd March 2009.

Supported by Urban Saints, Care For The Family, Mind & Soul, Mercy Ministries, New ID and Premier Lifeline, EDA's annual campaign this year focuses on the seriousness of eating disorders and promotes a growing united Christian response to supporting sufferers and their families through the illness and towards recovery - a recovery helped by early intervention and treatment.

Lisa's life story raises awareness of eating disorders and how a life can be lost which tragically was the case for her and her family. With all images of Lisa when she was well, it is not intended to shock, but puts a personal face to the statistics making the plight of people with anorexia real and signposts sufferers, families and church leaders towards EDA's help.

If you would like a copy of the campaign for your church, which includes the DVD, poster and leaflet outlining the work of EDA and the resources it can offer ministers, youth leaders and counsellors, please email us or ring our office.

What can you do in the Eating Disorder Awareness Week?

Support us by taking this campaign to your church, asking your church leaders to put up the poster or to put something about eating disorders and EDA's work in their newsletter. How about getting some of our literature for your church, our Guide To Eating Disorders For Church Leaders or our Training DVD produced in conjunction with Urban Saints perhaps?

Could you hold a coffee morning or a Bring & Buy Sale in support of EDA? There are many ways you could help us, and as we provide all our services thanks to the generosity of individuals and churches, we really count on your support. For details please click here.
