Coping with your feelings
Looking after someone who has an eating disorder brings up many feelings. At times you will have to experience upsetting behaviours, or suffer verbal or physical abuse. As a carer you cannot always respond in a way that means you can share what you are thinking or feeling easily. This is especially true when you worry that the response that you want to make will upset your loved one. This category will give you a place to voice and share those feelings with people who recognise and understand what you are going through.
Suggestions for post topics; worrying whether they will ever recover, coping with resentments, wondering whether you can cope, working hard to keep positive, managing grief for the change that the illness had brought, frustration that I don’t seem to be able to make anything better, feeling isolated from your families and friends, managing your anger, managing your sadness, coping with the disappointment that your child has lied to you, worried about your relationship with your partner, feeling unable to relax.
