I have just had a phone call from my son's teacher; the diner supervisors have been finding a packed lunch discarded, hidden in the refectory for a few weeks, today my son was caught, it was him, he has been throwing his lunch away. He has also started been coming back late from school, he tells me that it is because of training, he is very sporty and in a lot of school teams. I save him supper but he always says that he has just eaten, he always seems very plausible but I don’t think that he is telling me the truth. I have tried to talk to him about it but he is very distant and seems to get cross very easily, this has been going on for a few months now. I have mentioned it to his head of year and she suggested a meeting with his year tutor as well and school have mentioned a referral to Chams, whatever that is. I am a single parent and I don’t really know who to talk this over with. Most of my friends have children of a similar age and they say don’t worry about it, they say that it is just a phase. I have begun researching into eating disorders and I am a bit worried, how would you tackle this ?
